The technology of rubber formulation is the science and art of choosing and applying materials. The general purpose of the rubber formula is three: first,Rubber Processing Additive to make the rubber products have practical property, and secondly, to cooperate with the existing processing equipment for good processing operations; Finally, the lowest possible cost of the ingredients to meet customer requirements of the physical level. In other words, the most important factor to be considered in designing rubber formulations is the physical, processing, and cost of the ingredients, and the three of them get an appropriate balance point, which is the main work of the formula design.
The additive used in the formula can be classified into 10 main components:

Sulphur remains the most widely used additive so far. The accelerator can accelerate the vulcanization rate and shorten the time of adding sulphur.
Activator (activators) and delay agent (retarders):
Activators are used to help enhance the activity and efficacy of the Promoter, the most commonly used activator is zinc oxide powder, stearic acid, lead oxide, magnesium oxide and amine (H).
Anti-aging Agent (antidegradants):
Antioxidant can retard the deterioration of rubber products due to the influence of oxygen, ozone, heat, metal catalysis and buckling motion. So adding antioxidant to the ingredients can enhance the anti-aging of products and prolong their service life.
Processing aids (Processing AIDS):
Processing aids as the name implies is to help the ingredients easy processing operations, such as mixing calendering, extrusion and molding.
Filling agent (Fillers):
Fillers can enhance the physical nature of the ingredients, helping to process or reduce the cost. The reinforcing filler can increase the hardness, tensile strength, elongation (modulus), tearing strength and abrasion resistance of the products. Mineral materials commonly used in carbon fume or fine particles.
Plasticizers, softeners and viscosity inhibitors (Tackfier):
Plasticity, softening agent and viscosity enhancer are used to help the mix of rubber, change its viscosity, enhance the viscosity of ingredients,Rubber Processing Additive improve the product at low temperature of the flexibility, or replace the part of the plastic material without too much impact on physical property. Generally speaking, these additives can be used as processing aids or extenders.
