Adhesion Promoter TF-R022
Description TF-R022 is pre-condensate of resorcinol, styrene and formaldehyde widely used in rubber adhesion systems to promote bonding strength between rubber and fibers. It can react with the methylene donors such as formaldehyde, hexamethylenetetramine (HMT), hexamethoxymethylmelamine (HMMM), etc. in vulcanization to form a bonding resin which can continue reacting in two ways: one is bonding reaction with cords by chemical bonding and van der waals force, another is curing reaction with rubber double bonds. Due to this property, TF-R022 is ideal for promoting adhesion properties between cords (such as synthetic fiber cords, brass plated steel cords, etc.) and vulcanizates and providing better mechanical,dynamic properties and higher performance retention after aging. TF-R022 has no fuming problem which is incomparable to pure resorcinol and masterbatch R-80.
Application Fields Widely used in production of tires and conveyor belts to promote adhesion between rubber and frameworks such as steel cords, Nylon fibers, etc.
It is recommended to incorporate TF-R022 in the first stage of mixing cycle.
Recommended dosage is 1.5-2.0 phr.
